I imagine that at some point, you, like me, have been told that by changing our thoughts, we should be able to influence our feelings and actions. In other words, we would be able to ‘think’ our way into psychological ‘good’ health.

But is it so easy for everyone? Surely, if ‘good’ psychological health was only a thinking error then we would all, sometimes with a bit of support, be able to experience feelings of calm and overall happiness most of the time?

But unfortunately, life is not so simple, how wonderful if it was!!

We appreciate that sometimes the regulation puzzle is bigger than just our brain. We acknowledge that sometimes we do need to adjust our thinking process but also that sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we cannot ‘think’ our way out of current difficulties or past experiences and that, despite assurances that our lives are currently ‘safe’, we do not feel calm and settled in our everyday life.

Sensory Psychology aims to draw on the wisdom, knowledge, and guidance of those working within a nervous system space from both a cognitive and a body-based perspective by providing options of interventions and information that are affordable and easily accessible.
